Thank you so much for your love and support at the Fan Behaviour Birthday Bash, it meant the world to me. After one whole year of writing, I definitely feel like I have been welcomed into the most amazing community of musicians and I am grateful for it every day. This blog post is not a summary of the show, although that may be coming later . . . in audio format ;)
Regardless, for this blog post I have much to discuss, specifically about some of my new favourite event planners and everyone’s favourite basement venue.
The Coolest Kids In The Club
On an auspicious 4/20, the event of the season, Cool Kids Club, was held. The night was a variety show put on by Be Proud Productions and Frabjous. Both of these event planners are known for their eccentric events, particularly involving the queer community. Frabjous in particular has exploded onto the event scene with their midday photo booth events that you can attend before going out to the club or a live show.
On the night of the event, I was stressed. As cool kids do, the event planning duo created a themed Pinterest board to let people in on the dress code. I layered on sequins, mesh, and spikes in an attempt to suit their style instructions. My thoughts started to spiral into, “What if I didn’t match their vision?” and, “What if the pieces didn’t go together as well as I thought? What if I was blinded by the shimmering sequins and couldn’t see how hideous I looked?”
